Summary
This policy explains the local-first data handling of Flatscan and the limited situations in which you choose to share a file.
Scans, imported pages, thumbnails, OCR text, folders, and search data live in the app container on your device.
Information processed on your device
Scans, imported pages, thumbnails, OCR text, folders, and search data live in the app container on your device.
Flatscan uses Apple's Vision framework for text recognition. There is no server-side OCR pipeline.
Information we do not collect
No. Flatscan does not upload document images, OCR text, document titles, search queries, or archive contents to Flatscan servers.
Flatscan does not make network requests to upload documents or OCR text, send analytics or advertising data, run remote configuration, or verify purchases through a third party.
Apple StoreKit and subscriptions
Flatscan Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. The purchase sheet shows the current price, trial, renewal period, and cancellation terms before you confirm.
Manual exports and sharing
When you share a PDF, TXT file, or backup, iOS sends it only to the destination you choose in the system share sheet. Password-protected backups are encrypted before sharing. Flatscan does not operate a document-processing server.
Support, diagnostics, and permissions
For a faster answer, include what you were trying to do, what happened instead, whether it repeats, and your app version, iOS version, and device model.
Flatscan does not include a third-party crash-reporting SDK. Apple may provide crash logs, performance data, or TestFlight feedback through App Store Connect or TestFlight when you choose to share diagnostics with Apple.
Flatscan may request camera access for the system document scanner. You choose individual photos in the system Photos picker and individual files in the system file picker. The current scanner and archive flow does not request location, contacts, microphone, Bluetooth, local-network, or broad photo-library access.
Retention, security, and your choices
Documents and local metadata remain on your device until you delete them, purge them from Trash, delete the app, or erase the device. Exported copies remain at the destination you selected. Keep your device updated and protected with a passcode; device backup and Apple Account settings also affect practical security.
Changes and contact
Any new SDK, network domain, analytics or diagnostics collection, server-side processing, cloud sync, account system, or App Store privacy change will be documented here.
